Last week, the Gaming & Gambling practice group travelled to Malta for one of the finest conferences of the year: SiGMA Europe.
This year’s conference was bigger than ever with a variety of B2C operators, affiliates, software vendors, payment service providers and investors. The exhibition therefore featured many innovative products. In addition, the programme was filled with panels on international developments within gaming legislation, in particular addiction prevention.
Justin Franssen, partner of KKF, was a speaker at the panel Germany & The Netherlands: The hot issues. The panel discussed the eventful year in the Netherlands, including of course the opening of the licensed online gaming market, but also the strict licensing procedure and the related success rate of licence applications. A video of the panel can be found via this link.
During the multi-day conference, the practice group took the opportunity to visit several clients based in Malta. Of course, there was also ample opportunity to visit networking events of clients and foreign partner firms.
