Vacature: Trainee Lawyer (Regulatory)

Law | Full time | Amsterdam

Trainee Lawyer - Practice Group Gaming (Regulatory)

ADVOCAAT-STAGIAIR(E) - PRAKTIJKGROEP GAMING (REGULATORY)

Are you interested in joining a dynamic practice in a fast changing legal environment? We are looking for a trainee lawyer to join us in the Gaming Practice Group where we represent the national and international gaming, gambling and related sectors in the Netherlands, from the heart of Amsterdam. You will start as a paralegal with a view to becoming a trainee lawyer.

KALFF KATZ & FRANSSEN & THE GAMING PRACTICE GROUP

Kalff Katz & Franssen is a boutique law firm with an excellent reputation in the fields of entertainment, media law and gaming. With our sector specific approach Kalff Katz & Franssen provides a specialised full-service experience to an (inter)national client base. The Gaming Practice Group has developed a unique market position and services the very best of the (inter)national gaming and gambling sector. We service, amongst others, (listed) B2C and B2B operators, software developers, testing houses, banks and institutional investors, payment service providers, media producers and governments.

OUR WORK, YOUR CHALLENGE?

We provide regulatory advice to, and litigate on behalf of, the above entities. Once necessary legislative reforms have occurred our task will be to guide clients through to the regulated market (remote in the first instance, and then casino). Afterwards, compliance with the applicable licensing regime will be key, as well as compliance matters regarding other national and EU regulations in this technology driven, innovative and dynamic sector.  Given the largely international orientation of our clients, we also closely monitor and analyse relevant (inter)national legal and political developments. Our work also includes lottery licensing and sector-specific takeovers.

Whilst being involved in these activities, your position will focus more on advising on a range of cross-cutting issues such as advertising, AML, consumer protection, GDPR and privacy matters.

Time will also be made available for more academically orientated endeavours related to the field.

All in all, you will have the opportunity to gain experience across a diverse range of legal fields from within our internationally orientated niche practice.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Completed Master’s degree, preferably with;
    • An accent on data protection and privacy
